Take it with a meal: why fat matters for absorption

T3+ dietary fat = better absorption

Tocotrienols dissolve in fat, not water. Studies show absorption is much higher when they are taken with a meal that contains some fat.

Fat-soluble nutrients need bile and dietary fat to be absorbed in the gut. On an empty stomach, much of a tocotrienol dose may pass through.

Many trials therefore give tocotrienols with meals. High alpha-tocopherol intake at the same time may also reduce how much tocotrienol is absorbed.
